Beaterblog Product Review - Haul Master 2-Piece Vehicle Dolly Set

With a new lift going in to the garage, I'll be trading some of my precious horizontal space for vertical cubic footage. To make better use of the room that's left, I picked up a set of dollies to make the Javelin a bit more mobile, primarily in the lateral direction.

These Haul Master dollies, sold through Harbor Freight, are normally sold at a price of $79.99 for a set of 2. Ideally, you'd want to go ahead and get both sets and being that they were on sale for $39.99, I snagged the second set.

The dollies are rated at a 1000lb capacity which won't suit all applications but for anything in my garage at the moment it'll be just fine. Admittedly, these aren't the heavy duty 5/16" stamped steel plate dolly sets that you see in commercial applications, but seem to be made of something near 14ga. with some reinforcements added on the sides. All four caster swivel and do so quite smoothly under load, which was a bit of a surprise given the normal quality of such Harbor Freight offerings.

So far, these dollies have served me well and have effectively freed up a lot of space on the sides of the car, all while dealing with their fair share of sketchy loading. At $39.99 as set, I'd recommend them. At $79.99, I'd scour craigslist first.
