Beat on the Street: Death Race Edition

Driving in Moscow is a risky proposition. Traffic rules are sporadically enforced and frequently ignored. Lanes, turn signals, and stop signs are merely suggestions. To ride a motorcycle under these conditions is suicide, so your bike better look the part.

I found this parked a couple blocks from Red Square. What was once a Honda sport bike has received the full Mad Max treatment. Its fully blacked out with all the plastic frivolity removed and a stunt cage to keep lada bumpers from cracking the engine case. Saddle bags and a few other body panels have been fabricated from diamond plate.

Completing this nearly mil-spec sport bike are raised handle bars with hand guards and the show piece gas mask fairing.

  1. Legend has it that bike actually started Galsnost and Parestroika...not sure if that's true, just telling you what I heard.
